Call Terms

These terms apply to every one-to-one video call you book on Tokisto, and are what you accept when you confirm a booking.

1. Your call is recorded

Every one-to-one call is recorded automatically from the moment either person joins until both have left. Recordings are stored securely in India and are private unless you both choose otherwise.

Recording begins whether or not either of you chooses to share it afterwards — the recording exists so that, if something goes wrong on a call, there is a factual record to resolve it with.

2. Sharing a call needs both of you — and it is on by default

There is one sharing setting per call. When both of you allow it, the recording can be watched by the two of you, by anyone with the link, and it appears in the Tokisto Clips Feed, where anyone can find it. There is no setting that shares a call with only the two of you.

It starts switched on. Your account setting “Allow sharing by default on new bookings” is on when you sign up, and its value is copied onto each call when you book it. If neither of you changes it, the call will be shared once it has been recorded — nobody has to do anything for that to happen. The checkbox is on the booking screen before you pay, and on the call’s details page afterwards.

Either of you can turn it off at any time. The moment one of you does, the recording is hidden from both of you, the call is removed from the feed, and every link already sent stops working. That includes the person who left their own setting on.

We ask you for a short reason whenever you change it, in either direction. That reason is kept on file for support and dispute purposes and is not shown to the other person.

Changing the default in your account settings applies only to future bookings — calls you have already booked keep the choice that was in force when you booked them.

Please think before you leave it on. Copies that other people made while a call was shared are outside our control, and we cannot retrieve them.

3. The time guarantee

When you book a call of a given length, you are guaranteed that length minus a 30-second allowance — so a 5-minute call guarantees 4 minutes 30 seconds of the celebrity actually being in the call with you.

If the celebrity is present for less than that, they are not paid for the time they missed, and you may claim that portion back as a pro-rata refund to your Tokisto wallet. The claim must be made within 24 hours of the call ending, from the call’s details page.

Time you are absent for is never refunded to you. If you leave early, or do not join at all, the call is still yours and no money comes back — you can rejoin at any point until the scheduled end, which is what you paid for.

The celebrity is paid separately for the time they were in the call, so they are expected to hold the slot until it ends even if you have left. That is between them and Tokisto: it does not entitle you to a refund, and it is not money you can claim.

A call always ends at its scheduled time. Joining late does not extend it — the guarantee, not a longer call, is what protects you if the other person is late.

4. Cancelling a call

You can cancel a booked call up until 1 hour before it starts. How much comes back depends on how much notice you give, because notice is what decides whether the celebrity can still offer that slot to someone else:

  • More than 24 hours’ notice — 20% is retained as a cancellation fee and the remaining 80% is refunded to your Tokisto wallet.
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice — 50% is retained and 50% is refunded.
  • Within 1 hour of the start — the call can no longer be cancelled.

The cancellation fee is a platform charge and is not paid to the celebrity. A booking you have not yet paid for can be cancelled at any time at no cost — and if you don’t finish paying, it is released automatically after 30 minutes so the slot goes back to other fans. You can book it again if it is still free.

Because calls cannot be booked less than an hour in advance either, a call booked at the earliest slot available to you may be non-cancellable from the moment you pay. The booking screen tells you which applies before you pay.

5. If you don't join

Once cancellation has closed, the booking stands. If you do not join a call you booked and the celebrity does, it is marked a no-show against you: the celebrity is paid for the time they held the slot, and nothing is refunded to you.

If neither of you joins, half the price is refunded to your wallet and half is retained — missing a call without cancelling it is never cheaper than cancelling it late.

If the celebrity never joins, the call is marked a no-show against them and you are refunded in full, automatically — you do not need to claim it.

Both parties can always see who joined a call and when, on the call’s details page.

6. Conduct

By joining a call you agree that you will not:

  • abuse, harass, threaten, or discriminate against the other participant;
  • share or request sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise illegal content;
  • separately record, screen-capture, or redistribute any part of the call;
  • impersonate another person, or misrepresent who you are;
  • ask for or arrange payment outside Tokisto;
  • use the call to advertise, solicit, or promote anything without prior agreement.

Either participant can end a call at any time. Calls ended because of a breach of these rules are not refunded, and accounts may be suspended.

7. Payments, refunds and extensions

Refunds are credited to your Tokisto wallet, where they can be spent on another call or withdrawn.

Time extensions bought during a call are charged to your wallet immediately and are non-refundable, except where an extension is itself covered by the time guarantee above.
